Rethinking Hospice Care

Posted on

As we continue celebrating National Hospice and Palliative Care Month throughout November, we would like to call attention to the effort to break down the misconceptions surrounding end-of-life-care.

One such effort is Moments of Life, a first-of-its-kind, national public awareness campaign launched by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization in May of 2014.

Moments of Life is a remarkable resource for seeing the tremendous good that can come out of hospice and palliative care.

The campaign is about capturing vivid, emotionally powerful moments on video that show the genuine experience of receiving hospice care.  Stories come from across America; from patient, family caregiver, and hospice professional points of view.

This website offers us a meaningful opportunity to rethink end-of-life care.  This time in patients and families lives can be rich and important, thanks in no small part to the remarkable work of folks working in hospice and palliative care.

This web-based campaign, which we encourage you to explore, shows that hospice enables meaningful loving in the last chapter of life.
