Help Us Celebrate National Hospice Month

Posted on

This November marks National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, which honors the remarkable men and women who provide hospice and palliative care to over 1.5 million patients and their families each year.

This group of people deserves unending praise, as they allow patients to live fully, supported by friends and loved ones, even in their most difficult hours.

That work is truly incredible; they deserve this month of honor and then some.

We already mentioned that over 1.5 million patients, and their families, receive hospice and palliative care in a year, but the extent of that work is even more staggering at closer review.  Over 300,000 people staff these facilities, and their work adds up to 16 million total hours of service.

All of this – every year – to make sure that a patient and his or her family has everything they need to make the most of their greatest challenge.

We hope you take a moment to read the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization’s official declaration for Hospice and Palliative Care Month.  When you do, please share.

There will be more recognition of these amazing individuals throughout the month, so we hope that you continue to recognize this vital work.
